A Milestone for Peru’s Sustainable Industrial Development
On June 11, 2026, the National Council for Industrial Development (CNDI) recognized the national relevance of the private industrial parks Indupark, Piura Futura y Sector 62, strengthening the implementation of the National System of Industrial Parks (SNPI) and reinforcing their strategic contribution to the country’s productive development. This recognition was officially highlighted by PRODUCE as part of Peru’s broader industrial strengthening and competitiveness agenda.
The recognition of Indupark, Piura Futura and Sector 62, through Ministerial Resolutions No. 00165-2026-PRODUCE, No. 00167-2026-PRODUCE and No. 00168-2026-PRODUCE, marks an important step for investment promotion, formal job creation and stronger industrial competitiveness. According to PRODUCE, these parks are part of a strategy aimed at providing greater clarity, predictability and better conditions for new productive investment.
SNPI and industrial parks with greater impact
The strengthening of the National System of Industrial Parks is a clear sign that Peru is moving toward a more modern vision of productive infrastructure. PRODUCE has indicated that the parks incorporated into and recognized by the system account for more than US$ 400 million in projected investment, more than 1,033 hectares of enabled productive land, and the projection of more than 90,000 formal jobs, making them a key tool for boosting productive decentralization and national competitiveness.
This progress also aligns with the updated SNPI guidelines approved in May 2026, which were designed to strengthen evaluation criteria and provide greater clarity regarding the promotion and sustainable management of industrial parks.
A boost for investment, employment and competitiveness
The declaration of national relevance not only recognizes the readiness of these parks to receive larger-scale investments, but also reinforces their ability to contribute to broader economic and productive development goals.
Among the main expected impacts are:
– Stronger industrial investment attraction.
– Improved territorial competitiveness
– Formal job creation.
– Better conditions for productive decentralization.
– Greater predictability for companies and investors.
In this sense, the official recognition of Indupark, Piura Futura and Sector 62 sends a positive signal to the market about Peru’s capacity to consolidate industrial spaces that are better prepared, more structured and guided by a long-term vision.
Toward the transition to Eco-Industrial Parks
This step is also relevant for the transition toward Eco-Industrial Parks in Peru. PRODUCE has stated that, in partnership with UNIDO and with support from Swiss cooperation SECO, it is promoting the evolution of industrial parks toward more sustainable, responsible and competitive models by incorporating sustainability, energy efficiency and circular economy criteria.
From this perspective, industrial parks recognized for their national relevance not only strengthen the country’s productive infrastructure, but can also become platforms to accelerate innovation, efficient resource use and business coordination with a sustainability focus.
A positive signal for Peru’s industrial future
The recognition of Indupark, Piura Futura and Sector 62 confirms that Peru’s sustainable industrial development requires adequate infrastructure, clear rules, strategic vision and public-private coordination.
At a time when industrial competitiveness increasingly depends on the ability to attract investment, generate quality jobs and advance toward more efficient productive models, strengthening the SNPI represents a concrete opportunity to consolidate a more modern, decentralized and sustainable industry.
